UPDATED APPARATUS
Going back to the late 1970’s, each Ewing fire company has a designated color of apparatus. That tradition continues today as the West Trenton Fire Co. has white apparatus, Ewing Division 30 has red apparatus, and Prospect Heights Fire Co. has lime yellow apparatus.
Recently the West Trenton Vol. Fire Co. received a Pierce pumper from the Prospect Heights Fire Co. With new apparatus purchases for each fire company last year in 2016, apparatus deployment was reviewed. Because of this, the West Trenton Fire Co. accepted the transfer of this Pierce pumper from the Prospect Heights Fire Co. to replace an American LaFrance pumper that was often out-of-service with mechanical breakdowns and costly repairs. The West Trenton Fire Co. has removed this fire engine from service and it was sold at a township auction. For the time being, West Trenton residents will see a lime yellow fire truck responding to fire calls and emergency incidents throughout Ewing Township and beyond along with the rest of their white-colored apparatus.
The officers and members of the West Trenton Fire Co. wants to reassure our residents that we are on the job and serving our residents when you see a lime yellow fire truck responding out of our station! Our plan is to convert our newly acquired lime yellow pumper to white in the near future.
